How Much Does Nutrisystem For Men Cost? I’ll Tell You

Most people immediately know who nutrisystem’s spokesperson is in terms of the women’s program (Jillian Barberie.)  But not as many probably know who the men’s spokesperson is.  The company has had some pretty famous men on this diet, (like Dan Marino, Don Shula, Joey Fatone, Chris Berman, and Jason Taylor), but most people don’t put the name and the product together in the way that they might for Jillian.  This sort of makes sense because most would assume that more women than men are researching diet programs.  But, I actually get a lot of emails from men wanting more information on this diet.  One of the most common subject matters is the cost of some of men’s programs, which I’ll go over below. Cost Of Nutrisystem’s Men’s Basic Plan: The basic plan is the most popular.  This one has you eating five times per day (three meals, one snack, and one dessert) and the foods are chosen from some of the most popular items.  (You can hand pick your foods for no additional cost by using the “custom menu” option. The price of this plan is going to depend on whether you are going month to month or if you chose auto delivery (where they automatically send your food when your last order is about to run out.)  Month to month runs about $366 plus shipping (which runs about $15.)  The auto delivery version of this runs about $329 with free shipping. This is about $90 per week and $82 per week, respectively. Price Of The Nutrisystem Men’s Silver And Vegetarian Plans: The silver plan (for more mature folks) and the vegetarian plans (meatless foods) is a bit cheaper.  They run $299 for auto delivery without shipping costs (because they don’t charge for it on auto ship) and $333 plus shipping if you are going from month to month. This works out to be about $74 per week and $83 per week, respectively. The Men’s Flex Program (The Cheapest Nutrisystem Option):  The cheapest program within this diet is the flex plan.  This is a “part time” diet where you take any two days of per week.  And, this one cost less than the others.  However, the reason for this is because you are getting less food since you’re taking eight days out of the month off.  So, instead of needing five meals per day for the entire month, you’ll need five meals per day for only about twenty days per month.  The food is not any different with this option.  You’re getting the same option and choices and the same portion amounts.  Within the flex plan, men have two options, regular and silver. The silver is really for men over 60.  The cost for the regular men’s flex plan is $259 per month (or about $65 per week.)  If you’re going with the silver, it’s $234 per month (or about $58 per week.) Coupons: One good thing about this company is that they almost always offer coupons to discounts if you are purchasing a package (rather than Read more

Top Three Things Speakers You Can Learn From Stand-Up Comedians

A duck and a platypus walked into a bar … Starting your presentation off with a joke can be a good way to grab your audience's attention. But there are three other really good lessons you can learn from stand-up comedians to make every talk, lecture, pitch, or presentation more entertaining, stimulating, and memorable. 1. Plan for things to go wrong. Stand-up comics write "savers," funny comebacks for the things that can go wrong. For example, the audience does not laugh when they're supposed to, someone falls asleep, the microphone stops working, cell phones go off, instead of thirty minutes there are now only seventeen for your presentation, half the audience has just rushed out Of the room with food poisoning, etc. Being able to respond to problems with a sense of humor is a great trait for speakers to possess. It shows the audience you work well under pressure and do not let a few setbacks stop you. And, if you are able to deliver your savers as if you just thought them up off-the-cuff, the audience will be impressed by your quick wit and intellect! The best bet is to write "savers" for the specific situations that are most likely to happen when you're speaking. Let's say you're scheduled to present a PowerPoint presentation in an hotel ballroom for an audience of 350. What are the things most likely to go wrong? And how might you lighten the moment? O Problem: Your computer and the hotel's projector do not work together and you have to wait five minutes for another projector to be rustled up. Saver: "Okay, I'll be delivering my presentation using shadow puppets. Note how the rabbit has been very profitable this year …" O Problem: Every time you press your wireless laser device to the next next slide, your computer brings up the task bar or the previous slide. Saver: "What you do not know is that every time this happens, a rat somewhere is being fed a piece of cheese." O Problem: The microphone squeals every time you move more than four feet. Saver: "You think this is bad? You should hear what happens when I go through security at the airport!" O Problem: Only twenty people show up. Saver: "I do not know about you, but I prefer small audiences. We get a better chance to get to know one another. This lady in the front row, for example – I can tell you she's married, stayed up too late Last night, and wishes she had not worn her 3 "heels today." O Problem: Due to the lateness of other sessions getting out, half the group comes in during the middle of your presentation. Saver: "To recap, Kendall got pregnant with Greenlee's baby only to find out Ryan was not the father …" O Problem: You save ten minutes for questions and there are none. Saver: "Okay, I have some questions. Why are we here? Where do socks go when they get lost Read more

Is it Okay to Exercise During Menstruation?

A common question among women’s fitness groups is whether or not it is healthy to exercise during menstruation. While many fears and beliefs about our monthly cycle have changed over the years, whether or not strenuous activity is right for every woman is probably best determined on a case by case basis. Each woman is different both physically and mentally. Women who have a heavy flow may find that increased activity causes them to bleed even more. Other women have reported a decrease in the length of their cycle and an alleviation of cramps by exercising straight through their monthly period. While it is never good to bleed too heavily, foregoing a whole week of exercise is unacceptable to most women who have grown accustomed to a women’s workout routine. As a personal trainer, I have found that by having some light exercises to offer to the ladies gives them an alternative to just sitting out the entire week. Instead of running, a brisk walk will keep your body stay active, without jostling your uterus and aggravating your symptoms. Strength training exercises are fine and you can lessen the amount of weights, squats or other exercises that might increase your blood flow. If you are worried about the messiness of a heavy flow, you might want to wear a tampon when you exercise during your period. Just remember to keep it changed regularly to control bacterial infection. You might want to wear a pair of bike shorts under a pair of loose fitting shorts for protection against spills. Women have come a long way from the times of our ancestors, when women were cordoned off during their time of the month. However, we still have the blessing of a body that is engineered for childbirth and therefore from the time of puberty until menopause a woman’s body will automatically ready itself for the possibility of pregnancy. Although month after month it’s hard to think of this time as something wonderful, without it, we wouldn’t be much different than our male counterparts. Keeping your body hydrated is very important to your women’s fitness program but even more so during your period. A healthy diet that is low in sodium is also a must before and during your cycle. Salt tends to intensify bloating and inflammation, which trigger cramps and back pain that will make you feel worse. Exercise, especially walking helps to decrease inflammation and relieve bloating. Intense exercise, such as those performed by professional or extreme athletes, may cause amenorrhea or the termination of your menstrual period. This is generally temporary and reverses naturally when the exercise regimen is moderated. Since there are many reasons for amenorrhea, consult your doctor if your period becomes irregular, to make sure there are not some other underlying health problems that you need to be aware of. The important thing is to listen to your body and get to know it. If you feel you need to take it easy, then do so. Don’t Read more

High School Wrestling: Diet and Weight Loss Options

As wrestling season draws near, wrestlers begin to contemplate the weight class in which they may wrestle. Wrestlers often believe that they will be more competitive at the lowest weight they can reach without sacrificing their strength and endurance. This isn’t always the case. Too often, wrestlers end up dehydrated. They end up starving themselves and their performance suffers greatly. If you’re looking for an article on cutting weight, this isn’t it. If you’re the kind of wrestler who can lose ten pounds in wrestling practice, this article may not interest you either. I could never sweat off a lot of weight, so I was always more interested in manipulating my diet to lose weight. There are, of course, a myriad of diets to choose from. I simply want to discuss ten diets of which I am familiar. Maybe one of them will interest you and you can research it further. Let’s explore. 1. Low Carb/High Protein Diet The Atkins Diet is probably the most famous low carb diet. So, what exactly is a low carb diet? A low carb diet limits carbohydrates such as bread, pasta, cereals, grains, potatoes and other starchy vegetables, fruit, and sometimes even milk. The theory is that carbohydrates raise blood sugar levels which in turn raise insulin levels. Spiking insulin levels is considered bad because the idea is that insulin tells the body to store carbohydrates as body fat and prevents the body from accessing body fat as a fuel source. Supposedly, if you follow a low carb diet plan you can lose excess body fat without having to drastically limit your food intake. Some low carb diets focus on limiting carbohydrates while increasing one’s intake of fat and protein. Some low carb diets focus more on the glycemic index. The glycemic index essentially measures how much a given food raises one’s blood sugar levels. For instance, white rice may have a glycemic index of 58 while broccoli may only have a glycemic index of 15. White bread may have a glycemic index as high as 71. The idea is that a diet composed of low glycemic foods will lead to lower insulin levels which in turn may help one lose weight. Patrick Holford takes the glycemic index one step further and uses a concept called the glycemic load. The glycemic load takes into account the glycemic index as well as the total carbs in a given amount of food. For instance, a bowl of steel-cut oats (1 oz.) has 2 GL while a bowl of corn flakes has 21 GL. In addition, half an apple has 3 GL while a banana has 12 GL. That is quite a difference. Holford is a big fan of oats. He claims in his book The Holford Low GL Diet, “There are specific foods and food combinations that cause rapid weight loss.” He claims that you will never feel hungry on his diet. You limit the number of GLs you eat in a day and you combine Read more

Oprah’s Weight Loss Diet – The Natural Acai Berry and Colon Cleanse of Dr Perricone

Oprah Winfrey, in her famous TV show, together with Dr. Perricone, emphasized the significance of the Acai berry as weight-controller. It was supported by the large levels of antioxidants that the fruit contains. Actually, Oprah has already included the berry in her diet and its effects are already clear. It is a diet-supplement which can be used together with other healthy ingredients. This weight manager got its healthy and powerful properties from the pulp and the skin of the Acai berry fruit. Some of its nutritious components are the amino acids, minerals and vitamins. Acai berry also functions as a colon cleanser, which is one essential factor for the digestive system’s proper functioning. Some reasons why the Acai berry and colon cleansers are believed to be supplements to each are: 1. The two are weight controllers: The weight of our body relies on the elements of the food we take in and how digestion process occurs. The latter is done by the colon and the former by the berry which makes them support each other. 2. Their functions are similar: Both function as balancing diet-constituents, for proper bowel movement, and for weight reduction which makes their functions and duties equal. 3. There are no known side-effects: Because berry is from nature, it doesn’t cause side-effects to the body. This goes true with colon cleansers wherein their clear side effects are almost minimal. Both the berry and the colon cleanser have almost the same weight loss capabilities. 4. They have similar elements: Both of them contain almost the same elements like amino acids for calorie burning, vitamins, healthy ingredients, etc. Because of these astonishing similarities in the ingredients and function, it can be believed that what Oprah claims in her show were indeed genuine. Also, Oprah’s takes on the products is carefully planned and managed by a certified doctor, making it more reliable and true. Source by Candice P. Read more
